Transport Minister Kumara Welgama said engaging in politics in Sri Lanka was a business and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and the United National Party were the main competitors.

Addressing an event on the demise of former MP Daya D. Pasqual in Matugama, the Minster said politicians needed money to dabble in politics in Sri Lanka.
He also said the late Mr. Pasqual was a role model for current politicians. (S. Madawala – Agalawatta)
