Police use tear gas in Bandarawela

Police used tear gas to disperse a massive demonstration in Bandarawela which was staged in as a protest for making compulsory the use of plastic crates to transport fruits and vegetables.

Police media spokesman Ajith Rohana said that two vehicles were damaged and two policemen were also injured. (SD)
