The World T20 secretariat said today that no tickets would be issued for tomorrow's final of the ongoing World T20 tournament between Sri Lanka and West Indies

A highly placed official in the secretariat said that all tickets have been issued and there would be no extra tickets that will be on sale unlike the semifinal.

The ICC issued 8,000 extra tickets for Thursday’s semifinal between Sri Lanka and Pakistan causing a tense situation at the Thurstan College grounds where the tickets were sold.(Hafeel Farisz)

    In Australia is a country which have lot of cricket fans. Similarly S.L. . MCG, Adelaide oval, Perth etc have huge spectator stands which can accomodate more than 50,000 fans. So high time to think cricket administration to construct similar stands but pls dont get the help/advises of Suraj Dandeniya.

    you are right. the normal market rate is as follows ITS TERRIBLE:

    There is a facebook page where people are openly selling on the blackmarket - this is very sad

    Grand Stand - USD 175++
    A/B Upper - USD 150++
    C/D Upper - USD 80++

    This so unfair, I can understand that this type of thing happening in the times b4 the 90's This is computer era, all what would have taken the ICC is to issue 2 tickets per National ID or Passport and store in the computers or even print the names of the purchaser on the tkt. This would have given a fair chance to all cricket loving public to see the matches on a "fair ground". The rich can dish out 15000 SLR for a 220SLR ticket without batting an eye But whats the case of the poor?

    This just promotes black marketeers to have agents line up the queses and deprive a genuine cricket fan. I myself went to the Thurstan ground at 6 am, saw ppl who had slept over at the gates. Shame on you ICC

    Fair N Square Saturday, 06 October 2012 09:41 AM

    People should NOT buy these tks and encourage such acts.. I know we love the game of cricket as genuine fans BUT why let someone make a fast buck out of it.. I wish I am a computer hacker so as to purchase em all with fake c/c numbers or delete the page itself

    SL citizen Saturday, 06 October 2012 09:48 AM

    When is Sri Lankans going to stop their cheap acts? Sometimes feel shame to say I'm a Sri Lanka because of these people's cheap acts.. Damn disgrace to our country..

    FDFGH Saturday, 06 October 2012 10:09 AM

    this is really unfair, because becoming sri lankan's citizens we don't have tickets to watch the match, this is crap man... srew these pepole... screw the organisation..... this is totaly crap.... the keep tickets and at the last moment sell them for a high price.

    anthare pora Saturday, 06 October 2012 10:24 AM

    I.O. Kern,

    I have 2 tickets purchased by me to be sold. Would you buy? Is that Black Market?

    anthare pora Saturday, 06 October 2012 10:26 AM

    On behalf of ICC:

    Some Sri Lankans bought tickets hoping SL would play in 2nd semi. They didn't want to come. Will you accept? Don't try to attack like a bull.

    None of this country's religions countenance such behaviour in their sermons--in practice these behaviours, not a peep from Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus or Christians. It tells me that what is taught inside the temple, church or mosque means absolutely nothing outside and on the streets and in the homes.

    Gadzooks Saturday, 06 October 2012 10:51 AM

    The people who buy on the black market are certainly not going to be the fans from Wellawate, Ragama, Ratmalana, Pannipitiya, et al et al et al.

    Kettarama has 50,000 capacity !!

    Kaslana Saturday, 06 October 2012 02:30 PM

    Don't worry, Tickets will be plenty on our very own ebay - the Sri Lankan way for a $5000 reserve price a each ticket going for the highest bidder with political connections. Others can have plenty of fake tickets mainly catering for the gullible Sri Lankan voters.

    Ralph Anthony Kern Saturday, 06 October 2012 06:26 AM

    Plenty of tickets will be available at the black market

    AMG Saturday, 06 October 2012 06:36 AM

    how many tickets gone for ministers, deputy ministers, PC ministers, bodyguards, relatives, Dr.mervin, malaka, major, amare, etc ???????

    Dilip Saturday, 06 October 2012 06:36 AM

    I wonder what happened to the stolen tickets by the British, Is it still in the police custody as evidence to be submitted to the Courts or it has been transferred to some politicians for free of charge ?

    Chanakya Saturday, 06 October 2012 07:15 AM

    Can ICC give an explanation as to why there were hundreds of empty seats at yesterday's semi finals between Australia and Windies, whereas ardent cricket fans were deprived of tickets?

    GUEST Saturday, 06 October 2012 05:21 PM

    WHAT IS THE PRICE?URGENT

    mj Sunday, 07 October 2012 08:20 AM

    I went to Maligiwatte and was quickly approached by the brokers. Got a ticket for C-Upper priced at Rs 950 for Rs. 10,000??? These are the guys making massive profit from the screwed up ticketing system in Sri Lanka. Oh well, at least I'm going :(

    DHA Saturday, 06 October 2012 07:58 AM

    Developing the economy through BLACK MARKET.

    Mohammad Salimullah Saturday, 06 October 2012 08:05 AM

    During the last World Cup, I was there and same situation arose. Foreigners suffered a lot and finally purchased the tickets in the black. No doubt that Sri Lanka Cricket Board has arranged both the tournaments in a batter way. It is also to mention here that tickets are sold by ICC on net and Sri Lanka Cricket Board has nothing to do with it only that matches are being played in their country. This is the main reason every one is forced to think about the black market. It is suggested that in future, all the tickets may be sold on the net as well as in Sri Lanka through Banks. A special counter may be set up for the foreigners to buy after proving their identity. The foreigners spend millions of rupees to watch the matches and get a bad impression after buying tickets from the black market. Hope that ICC & Sri Lanka Cricket Board will look into this serious issue.

    Gam Pappa Saturday, 06 October 2012 08:29 AM

    Boosting the Black market.

    GhostLanka Saturday, 06 October 2012 09:19 PM

    they are invalid tickets with no tickets, and NOT actually a FULL BRITISH man but a SEMI BRITISH

    GhostLanka Saturday, 06 October 2012 09:23 PM

    There are foreigners who are involved with selling tickets on the black market too. Its just there are no Sri Lanka law that allows the prosecution of unfair commerical ticket selling. DOES the ticket say its not for resale???? By the way ICC has not provided the WC money for us to pay for the costs of the stadium too yet.

    $afebuY Saturday, 06 October 2012 09:01 AM

    If you go to Facebook page Safebuy there are plenty of tickets....it's a professional black market....
