Man, you must be wearing a tight pair of blinkers! Why make such an asinine statement when you are part of the pack? One day the Master will kick your donkey and then you will crawl back to another despicable leader who probably will also welcome you with open arms.
Minister Monday, 08 October 2012 10:57 AM
Can Hakeem any longer hold on to his ministerial post as a respectable lawyer himself when on of his own officers had been brutally attacked in the broad day light? Stomach or Dignity?
save the nation Monday, 08 October 2012 07:50 AM
Amar
It is not the respect that is issue here, It is the growing trend of disregard to the rule of law and democratic principles our constitution has laid upon. You do not want to go back to the rule of clans and kings do you? I think it is high time our religious leaders send a strong message to the government, We are going out of control.
srinath.gunaratne Monday, 08 October 2012 07:41 AM
Mr Hakeem
Comparatively I think you are a decent politician in SL, Do the right thing, Either bring the attackers to the justice, or hand over your resignation, The trend in Sri Lanka is alarming.
sajath Monday, 08 October 2012 06:34 AM
hello MR Hakeem Please don't deceive Judicial peoples as you deceived Eastern province people
Omar Monday, 08 October 2012 05:19 AM
My dear minister its better to shut up than make comments as no one takes you seriously now after your double somersault at the recently concluded elections!! The thoppi must be going on like a merry go round now.You have no right to represent the party you represent!!
Ranil the brave Sunday, 07 October 2012 05:02 PM
Respect is earnt by that persons actions... I cannot see what MR has done for the majority of this countries citizens. Perhaps you are one of the elite and your pockets have been lined Amar ?
Bad Luck Sunday, 07 October 2012 05:01 PM
you and your selfish statement who cares
ranjana Sunday, 07 October 2012 12:09 PM
Condemed the Government, only interested people to assult the Sec, public will not do that
Calistus Jayatilleke Sunday, 07 October 2012 11:35 AM
Right thinking people who are well aware of the machinations of this government which has a proven record of eliminating opponents in a very shrewd way, enticing opposition MPs with filthy lucre and when it fails, with threats; treat comments such as those from AMAR with the contempt that it deserves. We are not amused and also not surprised that there are still a sizeable number of people in this country who are brainwashed by ceaseless propaganda of the government and made to believe that those "believers" are the only patriots of the country. Ha Ha.
Thoppigala Sunday, 07 October 2012 09:27 AM
What is the use of issuing such statements.
Ahmad Sunday, 07 October 2012 09:20 AM
Hey Hakeem, after eastern provincial council election you lost what was remaining. Now Muslims do not care whatever you talk so how Sinhalese will respect you?
Abhi_Dharma Sunday, 07 October 2012 07:53 AM

kan Sunday, 07 October 2012 07:54 AM
What if the culprits found to be government goons, will you resign as we know if they are among those, action will not be taken, wrong persons will be arrested to calm down the situation.
Govi Sunday, 07 October 2012 12:00 AM
Is it just a condemn, as other politician do! What's the action you are going to take? via DM Android App
AMAR Sunday, 07 October 2012 07:38 AM
@Susantha, Mr Susantha is a typical common man. He doent think otherwise and would blame the government. What if this job done by some one who wants to discredit the government. Such work would give very bad international image.Knowing that I do not think that government would do such crime. Some one utilize the opportunity. Second,at present, we enjoy the democratic values than never before.Probably you wen't in Srilanka for the last 2-3 decades. We understand tha there are things that MR should improve, but averagely we live in a better society now. His 40 over years of political carrier would tell us that he would not do a Napoleon. He will work for the people.I have adifferent political views but I still respect MR as our head of state.
mohamed jamaldeen Sunday, 07 October 2012 07:22 AM
Why Thambiyar? put as directly Thambi, we are not Rodi or Hena! DM.
AMAR Sunday, 07 October 2012 07:17 AM
@Charlistus..! It is very hard.Everybody will predict that it is a government job. That is easy due his complications with the government. But, for the record, it can be a work of people who want to discredit the government too.Why not?Even JVPers are famous for such work. That is very much possible.
Cleo Sunday, 07 October 2012 07:13 AM
Ambooo this guy and his condemn, he sold the votes of the East in exchange for luxury, said yes for a "Diveyana Bill", now "condemn"..Condemn is nice word, but Action is a better one..
aiyo sri lanka Sunday, 07 October 2012 07:10 AM
Your took your Muslim voters in the East for a jolly good ride. You are a doubled tongued chameleon changing colors at the drop of a hat.
Remember you are only another joker in the bandwagon of rogue politicians.
Susantha Wijekoon Sunday, 07 October 2012 07:01 AM
It is abundantly clear to the discerning observer the direction in which the country is moving. We feel comforted to think that the Judiciary will not cave into the inroads made, more particulary after the assault of the Secretary to the Judicial Sevices Commission. The time is right for all right thinking people and all religious leaders lead by the Mahanayakes of the four Nikayas, the head of the Catholic Church Dr Malcom Ranjith,Bishops and all other religious leaders to come out strongly and meet the head of state before democracy vanishes into thin air and anarchy sets in.My mind goes to the late NAPOLEON who said."THE WORLD SUFFERS A LOT NOT BECAUSE OF BAD MEN,BUT BECAUSE OF THE SILENCE OF GOOD PEOPLE "
Cancer Sunday, 07 October 2012 06:45 AM
The suspects should be arrested and punished.
GreaseYaka Sunday, 07 October 2012 06:45 AM

Dinesh Sunday, 07 October 2012 06:42 AM

noorul haq Sunday, 07 October 2012 06:42 AM
I thought you got up on the wrong side of the bed today, don't worry have some wine now. calm down.
Calistus Jayatilleke Sunday, 07 October 2012 06:34 AM
We can very well guess who is actually behind this assault going by the false charges levelled against him and criticism from the very top. This is all a planned exercise to tame the judiciary as part of a grand plan.
Jesus Sunday, 07 October 2012 06:21 AM
Thambiyar....shut up..shafrron terrorist is looking for you...
noorul haq Sunday, 07 October 2012 06:05 AM
Dear Hakeem, strongly condemning the assault is not enough,
If you have a self dignity please resign from your portfolio. Don't think we are fool to except this.
