A high level defence delegation has left for China for bi-lateral talks aimed at strengthening defense ties. The delegates includes officials from the three forces, military sources told Daily Mirror online.

The delegation was reportedly led by Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa however the Defence Ministry could not be reached for a confirmation.

The Army meanwhile confirmed that the Chief of Staff of the Army, Major General Daya Ratnayake was part of the military delegation while the Air force also confirmed that the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Vice Marshal P. B. Premachandra had flown to China.

During the war Sri Lanka had purchased military items from China and Pakistan. The Indian media had earlier reported that India was concerned about China's role in South Asia. (Daily Mirror online)

Good to hear this. If India are trying to play their hardball tactics again by accusing SL of training Lashkar-e-Taiba in order to influence our country We must show them that we are no push over.
Up to now China has not put any undue demands on our country. Until that happens I think it is okay to seek their help against Indian intervention. If China starts as well to put undue demands then Gota will have walk the tight rope and try to balance the situation. I think he is capable of doing it.

We must align ourselves with Saudi Arabia and other good Muslim countries. Chinese people do not follow the Quran and so are unbelievers. We should be friends with Muslim countries.
