Champika is the only politician in our parliament, who has shown a long term vision for the counrty. He is genuine, brave and uncorrupted. Also, he is scientific, religious and a good problem solver. You will not get any better than that in one person from our politicians today. The extraordinary value we have in Champika is his engineering background and it is very unwise for us to under value the potential contribution he could make for the country. Hopefully, President MS will do a good job and keep his vision until the end of his tern and groom Champika to be the next President of Sri Lanka. In the meantime, it is up to the TV and news media personnel and the young generation [who has more social media skills and a genuine desire for a better future] to rally around and strengthen Champika enabling him to reconcile with any differences, combat corruption and clean up the country.

Without the support of two major parties UNP/SLFP no one can become a president or Priminister, even some times an ordinary MP

JHU has no vote base to secure a significant power in the administration. They have to either seek the support of MR or Ranil.

The constitution provides several criteria that an aspirant to the office of president must fulfill. Those who do so are deemed fit to run for president

Initially while forming a Govt, JHU acted wisely and backed MS but now they too have got into the trap of earning money.
Chamalee Thursday, 02 April 2015 08:28 AM
I did not vote for Sirisena, but i have a good feeling that Mr.Champika would be suitable for next presidential candidate. But Mr. Premadasa will have the edge.
