The Court of appeal today extended the interim order on Fonterra to refrain from advertising its products as ‘100% perfect’, till September 3.

Senior Counsel Upul Jayasuriya informed the Appeal Court that papers would be filed against New Zealand-based dairy giant for contempt of court because it was continuing its publicity campaign despite court orders not to do so.

Meanwhile on August 16 Gampha District Court had issued an order preventing Fonterra from selling all its products, distributing or selling through agents as well as any form of advertising in a misleading manner. The order effective for 14 days was issued following an action by the Government Nursing Officers Association.  (SRF)
