Director, Investigations, Dhammika Perera has been appointed as the Deputy Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) with effect from today.

This was announced to the SEC employees by the newly appointed SEC Chairman Dr. Nalaka Godaheva in a special staff meeting held today morning.

The appointment of Perera was decided at the first Commission meeting headed by Nalaka Godahewa, which was held last Friday.

The SEC currently does not have a Director General. Prof. Harreendra Dissabandara was appointed as the Acting Director General in April, this year.

That should restore the confidence of international investors. We may be fools, but they are not. Let's hope the ex-SEC Chairman will come forward and tell us what he knows and then seek political asylum.

Guys this is not Dhammika Perera of Vallible One or former BOI Chariman.... This is the former Director, Investigations of SEC...

OH MY GOD! Tuesday, 11 September 2012 06:53 PM

It was that "Dhammika Perera - Director Investigations" who had refrained from conducting investigations as reported to the newspapers by the former Chairman Tilak Karunaratne and who had been pulled up by the Commission for his negligence. So it appears that not only is the "fox in charge of the chicken", it has also got an assistant to act according its bidding. Shameless people!!
