Two lieutenant colonels, a staff sergeant and a corporal were arrested on Monday by the CID over the disappearance of Mr. Ekneligoda. They were arrested and remain in custody under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA).

We want internal investigation as opposed to international investigation and so hot to prove we are capable of doing so. Hence all done dusted cases will have to be investigated even though some members of old regime dislike it. The fact is they can not have both: local but dogey investigation.

Good but the soldiers were only following orders. the one who gave the order needs to be arrested without scapegoating the soldiers

If government can arrest individual on this kidnapping, why not in other cases too. Government should investigate and arrest those who was behind brutal murder of Lasantha Wickramasinghe.

Why not have the same attitude towards the many thousands of similar incidents perpetrated on innocent Tamils of the north?
