Kaduwela UPFA Group Leader G.H. Buddhadasa yesterday lashed out at Minister Wimal Weerawansa, accusing him of parachuting into the area and violating various election laws.
Mr. Buddhadasa who won the largest number of preferential votes and hopes to become the Mayor of Kaduwela charged that Minister Weerawansa had abused state vehicles and other resources to defeat him and to ensure that UPFA candidate Buddhkia Thushara became the mayor.
Mr Buddhadasa said Minister Weerawasna had forced three police stations in the new municipal area to follow his orders. He said he would now ensure that the minister who parachuted into Kaduwela was thrown out of the area.
Mr. Buddhadasa has topped the list of preferential votes with 29,719 votes, while UPFA’s Buddhika Thusara obtained the second place with 23,621 votes. During the election campaign period supporters of candidate Buddhika Thushara clashed with supporters of Buddhadasa in Kaduwela.

Well said, it is high time someone taught this Modawansa a good lesson for he is becoming too big for his shoes. Of course, he is a parachutist in more ways than one.
