Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe told Parliament today that salaries of parliamentarians should be increased.
He said parliamentarians have to spend huge amount of money in carrying out their duties at their respective electorates.
Prime Minister Wickremesinghe said his wife, Maithree Wickremesinghe, gets a higher salary than him.
However, he did not reveal whether there were any plans to revise MPs’ salaries shortly. (Yohan Perera)
