Former Director of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) SSP Shani Abeysekara has been arrested by the Colombo Crimes Division this morning, Police Spokesman Jaliya Senaratne said.
He said the former director was arrested on charges of fabricating evidence over a firearms case at the CID.
