Good suggestion to maintain those services. Are any apartment complexes using these services, what happen if they are occupied by individual owners.

This is good. Many countries follow his system and it will help to improve the city infrastructure. Even developed countries follow this.

Why you charge VAT and all other taxes. Keep in mind labbata thiyana athama thama puhulatath thiyanne. Also this will increase road side dumping

This tax is already levied with the Water Bills as "Sewerage Charge" although most of the times the drains, gullies and manholes remain clogged and stagnant, causing health hazards! If the objective is to recover some extravagant expenditure rename it as "Mayor's Toilet Renovation Levy" (MTRV).

Every house or building connected ought to pay a charge. Including council offices and residencies.

    Priya Monday, 07 January 2019 10:33 AM

Another Tax? This should be called "The Dirty Tax"...

We'd appreciate if you'd let us know what you propose to do with this added revenue of Rs. 667 million.

Now the CMC has become a money making council. Hope they will pass the benefits to the public rather than pocketing themselves.

OPPOSITION LEADER Monday, 07 January 2019 11:37 AM

pls repair the broken sewer line at kompanna veediya. The bad smell is spreading all over the area for more than a month.CMC is no where. Why you collect money when the service is so worst.! Further to that, All over the Colombo city, roads are cut down to install sewer lines and left without repairing properly. Pit holes on the roads are so dangerous to bicycle raiders. Vehicle suspensions too are damaged leading owners to repair without insurance claim. This is due to gross negligence by CMC and PRDA,if some one opt to sue CMC I will involve.

Why do not charge for the disposal of sanitary towels?

    sarath Monday, 07 January 2019 02:06 PM

and what will the CMC do with the money collected, for which they already don't have the funds
