6 children injured in school van crash

Six school children were injured when a school van collided with a private bus near Horragolla this morning, the police said. The drivers were also injured in the accident.

The victims were admitted to Wathupitiwala hospital and one of the injured children was transferred to Colombo National Hospital for further treatment.

    This would not have happened if the van had a sticker issued by the van sticker authority and the driver was wearing an approved yellow hat.

    Improve the public transport system so people need not depend on private vans whose only concern is money and not safety of the kids. We can spend billions on frivolous events but not for something as necessary and vital as this.
