There are around 165 main railway stations connecting major cities in Srilanka. Why can't the Ministry of Transport and CEB together come out with a concrete plan to make use of the vast roof tops of the railway stations to be equipped with roof top PV solar panels to generate electricity and fed to the national grid and make the Srilanka Railways self sustainable?

Projects of this nature must be implemented soonest. Downsizing government expenditures on politicians, Tri Forces and projects deemed non essential at this moment. Upgrading and Replacing existing Healthcare, Transportation and New Solar power plants will benefit millions of people Daily at one go. Once citizens feel they are taken care of, support of government increases immediately. Highway expansions which benefits few hundred thousand daily can be done later once more funds are available.

It would affect the ecosystem of the water. I habe personal experience, covering the top of the well at my home and the lack of light led to lack of algae and ferns which would supply the oxygen needed for microbes. The well became anaerobic and the water started to have a foul smell (hydrogen sulfide). Can't they find some barren land for such projects?

The JVP tried to sabotage these projects as well giving various false excuses such as no environmental impact assessments have been obtained etc (when in fact such had been done).
