Sri Lanka Cricket awards US$30,000 to national rugby team

May 5 (SLC) - Sri Lanka Cricket has awarded the national rugby team a prize of US$30,000 in recognition of their victory at the Asia Rugby Division 1 Championship, where they defeated Kazakhstan in Colombo. 

The decision to honor the players and coaches involved in this remarkable win was made by Sri Lanka Cricket's President, Shammi Silva, and the Executive Committee, in accordance with the organization's ongoing commitment to recognizing sporting excellence in the country. 

Sri Lanka Cricket expresses great satisfaction with this achievement, as it elevates the national rugby team to the top tier of the Asian Rugby circle, which bodes well for the country's sports arena.
