What a outstanding performance done by the Kenyan high commissioner. He is a role model to other commissioners. And also he must bring FDI to SL too.

BIG QUESTION is WHO enabled them??? 6.9 Million Sri Lankans and NONE ELSE!!??? The same group incentivised the group from 2005 to 2015 and then 10/2019 emboldened the Rascals to consolidate their robbery!!!???

Tissa Fernando Thursday, 09 May 2024 01:25 PM

Typical NPP thinking. Anyone having money abroad is holding Rajapaksha money that is what NPzp has brainwashed you to think.

Comment given by a few are dam dumb and ridiculous all the time its about the Rajapaksa's and nothing else.. Appreciate the investments done by Browns with their stakes in Kenya... we should be proud of it!

Sometimes back, LOLC sold its east Asian micro finance business to US $ 650 million and moved to business in African Continent. This was a well-known fact and appeared in SL news. I believe that the Company have enough, internally generated tax paid funds from different businesses to reinvest in viable investment projects in overseas including Africa. Company has done it successfully. LOLC has brought a neglected Scottish plantation company in Kenya with the consent of Kenyan government. May be the Kenyan government has recognised performances and revival of their tea industry after taking over. LOLC is a public company in SL. We Sri Lankan, should be proud about our successful companies working abroad. However, I felt very bad about the comments shown above and sorry for ignorance and hatefulness. SL High Commissioner in Kenya is an active Government Servient. Writer is a Sinhalese Buddlist and has no any connection with LOLC company.

@Catherine, you are right, most Lankans are brainwashed by NPP and others like Champaka Ranawake, Ranjan Ramanayake, Sajith etc ti think that all Sri Lankan origin persons earning dollars abroad are holding Rajapaksha money. Since many are stupid , they buy these theories. They say that Dubai Marriot is owned by Rajapakshas, if you add what they allege as Rajapakshas have robbed in dollars, that sum could be well above all dollar earnings for last 75 years. Since the stupids cannot do simple arithmetic they believe so.

The robbery wasn't perpetrated on “USD EARNED” BY the Country, But SKIMMING OFF 10-20% on foreign Development Funding’s - HPP, LAKVIJAYA, MOTORWAYS, especially, Bi-Lateral Lending's, to the exclusion of Japan!!!??? Pure and simple Lender diverting to Foreign Banks of CULPRITS NEVER Through Sri Lankan Banks!!?? Famously touted for such deals was Bank, Hong Kong connected!!??

The jewellery that was pawned by the people of Wanni at the LTTE’s TamilEeelam bank were handed over by the army in Colombo, never reached the central bank. Sarath Fonseka said so. Jewellery melted and gold bars gone abroad while the real owners perished in the war.

Since independence we never had any dealings with African countries. now that our politicians are also corrupt we are now in the same boat like our new found friends in Africa.

Exciting news for Sri Lanka! Our offshore investments promise to increase our foreign exchange reserves, offering a significant economic boost. High Commissioner Kananathan has paved the way for enhanced ties with Africa, underscoring the importance of proactive diplomacy. As we look to the future, cultivating assertive, outgoing, and influential ambassadors will be key to expanding our economic cooperation not only across Africa but also beyond its borders.
