Politicians of all parties ruined the country from independence to this lowest level of economic crisis. Said that country needs stability to pull itself out of the deep hole, not untimely election for more power hungry politicians to give an opportunity to make more money, who wouldn’t have a clue of what to do to turn around the situation. In the a good decision!!

Nowhere in the Consitution, it's stated that elections should be held only from funds given by the Govt. EC can set up a separate fund for citizens to contribute to "an election fund" that can be used to hold the elections.

Since Mahinda openly states an election should be held, why won't he bring a motion to the Parliament to conduct the election on a priority basis and ask for a vote under division?

We don’t need elections and secularism we have to formalise the Sanga the real power in the country as rulers, ie have a theocracy. All type of Buddhist benefits that we are now experiencing will increase multifold

He is not for democracy but talks about it. He thinks the international community is with him. Your days are numbered so be careful. The Election commissioner is all talk like the former. There is no justice and that will push the people to the streets.

It's no brainer, when NPP and SJB GONNA sweep the LG elections why hold the elections when you have a valid reason not to, that is no money!! Huh!!

The Speaker will consult Ranil as to how to respond to the request of the EC and Ranil with advice from his Catchers find the excuses to delay further.

Highly doubt the EC has the spine to announce a fresh date. Surely the President is gonna scuttle this again.
