Chinese nationals engaging in online financial frauds arrested in Aluthgama

At least 39 Chinese nationals have been arrested by the Aluthgama police in connection with an online financial fraud.

Police said the suspects had defrauded millions of money over several months through the internet from the accounts of people in different countries.

The group had been staying in a tourist resort in the Kaluamodara area in Aluthgama and Police said they were arrested based on complaints received through several embassies.

While the arrested Chinese nationals were taken to the Alutgama police, several smartphones and cash in their possession were also taken into custody by police.

Everyone wants to make a buck. No nationalities no colour or language differences. The law enforcement should grow to arrest this greed . Law enforcement is a continuous education process blinking causes set back.

Some months back there were articles in all the newspapers about Sri Lankan trapped I believe somewhere in East Asian country, also doing online fraud. How they eventually went on strike and were sacked and told to leave the luxury resort. Maybe the Chinese nationals might be similarly imprisoned to do the same despicable work our nationals were initially tricked to do overseas.
