Brother of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, Minister Chamal Rajapaksa earlier today admitted that the Prime Minister had undergone a surgery which is why he was unable to attend a public event in Gampola today.
The Daily Mirror reported on Wednesday that Prime Minister Rajapaksa had undergone a spinal surgery at the Nawaloka Hospital earlier this week and was under rest.
However this was denied by Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa who said yesterday that media reports of his father undergoing a surgery were untrue and he infact went to hospital to see another patient and not his father.
However Minister Chamal Rajapaksa, speaking at a function in Gampola earlier today said that the Prime Minister was unable to attend that particular function as he was under rest following a surgery.
