Fonseka is right when, in view of the still considerable misery of many people and the burdens that the country has to remove, he assesses the possible construction of a bridge connection to India as wrong! Negative minded islanders do not think out of the box ,always wants to be closed like the frogs in the well. connecting to India is connecting to half of the world by road ,they don’t see huge potential and opportunities. We can import and export good through road ,attract many tourist and we can also visit many countries by road . Indian driving from India to London ,there a freight trains from china to Europe. Uk France tunnel , multiple bridges over Bosporus in Istanbul to connect Europe to asia ,they don’t see these but to satisfy the ego of majority and be like this forever .if india is ready to spend why do we worry about it
