Government refutes social media posts on President’s official visit to France

Colombo, July 14 (Daily Mirror) - The government today refuted social media posts that President Anura Kumara Dissanayake's scheduled official visit to France has been postponed due to visa issues.

Cabinet spokesman Minister Nalinda Jayatissa told the weekly breifing to announce Cabinet decisions that the dates for the visit will be announced following diplomatic discussions between France and Sri Lanka.

The Minister said posts shared on social media are always not trustworthy and that such posts have to be trusted considering who generates and shares such posts.

He said a timeframe convenient for both factions will be announced following the agreement of the diplomatic negotiations between France and Sri Lanka.
