Swashbuckling Senuja slams unbeaten 203

Man in-form Senuja Wekunagoda continued his batting prowess when he slammed an unbeaten 203 in 227 balls inclusive of 31 boundaries to help Sri Lanka U19 taking first lease of the wicket to end with a formidable score of 344 for 4 on day one of their four-day Youth Test match against India U19 at the Galle stadium yesterday.

Senuja and skipper Vimath Dinsara came to the rescue of the Sri Lanka as they lost two early wickets with three runs on board.

The pair began accumulating runs with ease while posting the 100 runs on the board before the lunch break with the score on 124 for 2.

Vimath with 52 with nine boundaries shared a valuable 143 runs for the third wicket with Senuja.

Senuja raced to his ton in 87 balls and Kavija Gamage who joined him turned out to be a reliable partner as the pair posted their 50 runs stand for the fourth wicket and went into the tea break with the score on 209 for 3.

The duo having partnered for 128 runs for the fourth wicket was separated with the dismissal of Kavija who hit 49 with nine boundaries.
