Former Royal College and current Havies player Musheen Faleel has announced his retirement from competitive rugby, bringing the curtain down on an impressive 15-year club career that spanned some of Sri Lanka’s leading rugby clubs.
Faleel first made his mark at Royal College, representing the school in the 2008 to 2010 seasons. His outstanding performances earned him selection to the Sri Lanka Under-19 national team under the captaincy of Shenal Dias for the Thailand tour, highlighting his potential as one of the country’s promising young forwards.
He began his club career with CR and FC, where he played from 2011 to 2014 before moving to Police Sports Club, representing the side from 2015 to 2017. Faleel then joined Navy Sports Club, enjoying a successful five-year stint between 2018 and 2022, during which he contributed to several memorable campaigns.
In 2023, he signed for Havelock Sports Club and remained with the Park Club until the conclusion of the 2026 season. His commitment, physicality, and consistency made him a respected figure among teammates and opponents alike; he was one of the best players to be sharpened by Head Coach Saliya Kumara.
Having served Sri Lankan club rugby with distinction for over a decade and a half, Musheen Faleel leaves the game with a reputation as a dedicated professional and a true servant of the sport.
