The ICC has confirmed that the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, with matches scheduled for the early stages of next year.
Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium, Kandy’s Pallekele International Stadium, and the Sinhalese Sports Club are among the Sri Lankan venues set to stage games, while Indian fixtures will take place in major cities including Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Delhi, and Kolkata.
India will defend their title after clinching the 2024 World Cup with a thrilling seven-run win over South Africa. They are one of just three multiple T20 World Cup champions, alongside England and the West Indies.

The tournament will feature 20 teams split into four groups of five, followed by a Super Eights stage and knockout semi-finals — the same format used in 2024.
Officials have confirmed that all of Pakistan’s matches will be played in Sri Lanka due to ongoing bilateral travel restrictions.
The ICC will release the final fixture schedule later this month.
