Chanaka Harischandra – captain of Police Sports Club – has been ruled out with a knee injury ahead of their Inter-Club League Tournament match against CH and FC at Police Park tomorrow (3).

The Number Eight failed to take part in the first three encounters of the season due to the same knee injury but was given his first start against Kandy in the fourth week. However, according to the Police team management Harischandra has aggravated the injury during that game and will miss tomorrow's game against CH and FC.

Udaya Sanjula who, in the absence of Harischandra, played at Number Eight in the first two weeks before injuring himself has returned to the team and is expected to replace the skipper in the first XV.

Former CR veteran Nalin Kumara looks set to replace Janith Chandimal at Fly-Half, but the latter is likely to make a second-half appearance for the Cops who are gunning for their third win of the season having lost two and won two.

CH and FC on the other hand would look to build on the winning momentum having defeated Navy Sports Club in their previous game.

CH team management refused to provide any information about their squad for tomorrow’s match stating that the Club has not finalized the team, less than 20 hours for such crucial fixture, which goes to show the sort of shambles a club with such rich history find themselves in at present.
