Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has not called off the proposed tour to South Africa, with a final decision to be made tomorrow.

If a decision is taken to send the team, two key persons, Dr. Daminda Attanayake and the head coach Mickey Arthur, will be sent next Monday to assess the arrangements before the team is flown after the Lanka Premier League (LPL).

"If both the sports medicine expert and the head coach are satisfied with the arrangements and the safety measures for the players, they will stay back there and if not, they would return,” a source said.

Arthur is currently on the LPL's commentary panel.

SLC is monitoring Cricket Australia's plan for their tour of South Africa in the month of March, 2021.

The health ministry is also considering relaxing the quarantine period for the players on return to the island. The players' PCR tests will be done on January 8 to make them available for the first Test on January 14 after a seven-day quarantine.
