Top cruise liner calls Colombo

'Aquamarine': luxury cruise ship belonging to Louis Cruise Line of Cyprus, the fifth largest cruise operator in the world, on its maiden voyage, with 500 passengers, berthed in Colombo last week.

Working closely with Sri Lanka Tourism, Louis Cruises will present to its clientele the many attractions of Colombo. Managing Director of Louis Cruises India Oneil Khosa in Colombo for the event observed "Sri Lanka can expect 30,000 Indian passengers in five months." He also said "It is not all about the number of passengers it is also about word of mouth and seeing Colombo."

The 'Aquamarine' which sails between Cochin, Male and Colombo will make a weekly berth at the Colombo port. The 405 cabin vessel, with a carrying capacity of 1,200 passengers is captained by Sathis Romeos, and is the first regular fixed day cruise operation to Sri Lanka, and is scheduled to arrive in Colombo every Monday at 2.00 PM and depart the next day (Tuesday) at 3.000 PM.
