Under-15 Final: Chethina helps St. Joseph’s to clinch title

A fine knock of 92 by Chethina Kavinda helped St. Joseph’s Colombo record an easy first-innings win over Devapathiraja MMV Rathgama in the final of the Under-15 Division One cricket tournament played at DSS ground in Wijerama Mawatha to emerge champions.

Chethina made a match-winning knock of 92 and shared two valuable partnerships: the first of 93 runs for the third wicket with Santhosh Jayaprakash, who made 40, and the other of 64 runs for the fourth wicket with Thisanga Perera, which helped St. Joseph’s, taking first lease of the wicket, make a score of 200/5 declared.

Devapathiraja MMV, in their turn, were never to be in the run chase, as they lost their top five wickets with the score on 56 and then lost their remaining five wickets for the addition of just 16 runs and were bundled out for a score of just 72 runs.
