National Ranking Tournament 2025 Dhuwarshan takes early lead at NEGC

The first National Ranking Tournament for 2025 was teed off at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (NEGC) with S. Dhuwarshan taking an early lead with a score of 72 on the initial day in Nuwara Eliya yesterday. 34 Boys’/Men’s and five Girls’/Ladies’ are teeing off for honours in this event.
This scenic venue sets the stage for exciting competition, though several top-ranked players were absent. Yannik Kumara, Reshan Algama, and Jevahn Sathasivam, all world-ranked players, missed the tournament due to study commitments. 
Reshan Algama and Jevahn Sathasivam were also unavailable due to imminent overseas golf assignments.
Chalitha Pushpika dropped down to fourth place but likely to pick up his form in the next couple of days.
Day 1 top three: S. Dhuwarshan – 72, Chanaka Perera – 76, P. D. S. U. Kumara – 76.
