Masters Basketball tournament begins today

The 6th Inter-Club Masters Basketball Tournament will begin today with the match between SL Navy and Wattala BC at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium commencing at 2.00 p.m.

Thirty-five leading basketball teams in the country are taking part in this tournament which will run until March 28.
The tournament is for both men and women. The age groups for men are 35+, 40+, 45+ and 50+ while women will compete in the 35+ and 40+ categories.

It is being organized by Masters Basketball Sri Lanka (MBSL) and sponsored by Gaja Sports.
A keen tussle for supremacy is expected with national and international level players in addition to travel trade players participating, according to MBSL president Gayath Jayasinghe.

There will be 16 matches in the opening day, 30 on the second day and 30 more lined up on the final day of the tournament.
