Havelock Sports Club will commence proceeding in week 6 of the inter-club A division rugby league championship with an encounter against the gutsy Army outfit at Panagoda.
Havies led by Abdullah Faiz stood out this season only going down to the mighty Kandy outfit courtesy of a last-minute try. They won the rest of the three matches.
Their hooker and former Royalist Azmir Fajudeen stood out for the Park club this season. Their full back, Samuel Maduwantha too has been in very good form with his touch kicks and kick at goal. He gained much needed territory for the Havies to attack. Havies not only need to win this and rest of the encounters but badly need bonus points as well.
Army been a very good side but consistency been a major worry for them. They started off well but lacked the finishing touches. Sudaraka Dikkumbura, Nalaka Maduranga and Mohamed Akram have been outstanding.
Army lost out to two leading teams, defending champions CR&FC and Kandy while beating Police and newcomers Sri Lions.
Havies are leading the table with 24 points from five games while Army SC with 12 points doing their level best to end on top four and secure a berth in Cup segment.
