Four leading football players of Sri Lankan origin residing overseas were added to the Sri Lanka national football team in preparation for the international assignments scheduled for this year.
All four players met the President of the Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL) Jaswar Umar at the Football House in Colombo yesterday.
The new additions are Remiyan Muthuccumaru (Netherlands), Garrett Kelly (England), William Thomason (Australia) and Jeremy Perera (Germany).
With these new additions, the National football team will have 16 foreign players with Sri Lankan origin, FFSL President Jaswar Umar told the Daily Mirror yesterday.
Sri Lanka are set to play a series of internationals this year including the AFC Asian Cup (Saudi Arabia - 2027) Qualifiers final round Group ‘D’ matches against Thailand, Chinese Taipei and Turkmenistan on a home-and-away basis.
