FFSL Champions League 2025–26: Serandib SC, Solid SC record convincing wins

Serandib Sports Club Mawanella and Solid Sports Club Anuradhapura registered emphatic victories in their respective Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ encounters of the FFSL Champions League 2025–26, played at the Race Course Ground, Colombo.
The tournament, organised by the Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL), features 14 top-division teams competing in a round-robin league format.
In the Group ‘A’ match, Serandib SC Mawanella defeated Crystal Palace Football Club Gampola by 4–1, after taking a 3–1 lead at half-time.
Serandib’s goals were scored by Frimpong Yaw (8th and 65th minutes) and Vijayakumar Abishan (23rd and 35th minutes). Crystal Palace’s lone goal came through Michael Acquaye in the 13th minute.
Serandib SC’s Odoom Knock was sent off after receiving a red card in the 33rd minute. Despite being reduced to ten men, Serandib maintained control and sealed a comfortable victory.
Yaw was named Best Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.
In the Group ‘B’ fixture, Solid Sports Club Anuradhapura recorded a dominant 4–0 win over Matara City SC, leading 2–0 at the interval.
Solid’s captain S. Gnanarupan led from the front, scoring twice in the 18th and 76th minutes. The other goals were netted by A. Alexan (45+1 minute) and substitute Adelakun Adeolu (88th minute).
Thevadas Nilujan of Solid SC was adjudged the Best Player of the Match.
