The Sri Lanka Golf National Ranking Tournament concluded the National Ranking Tournament at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club, with top local golfers battling challenging weather and course conditions for three days in the Hill Country.
Chanaka Perera of Sri Lanka Army emerged as the standout performer, clinching top honours with an impressive total of 223. After opening rounds of 77 and 76, he produced the best round of the tournament with a superb final-day 70 to seal a well-deserved victory and consolidate his national ranking position.
Mithun Perera of Sri Lanka Navy finished second on 227, showing remarkable steadiness throughout the tournament with scores of 77, 73 and 77. He was closely matched by Anura Rohana of Sri Lanka Air Force, who also returned an aggregate of 227. Rohana’s excellent second-round 70 kept him firmly in contention, despite a tougher final round.
Reshan Algama of RCGC was placed fourth with a total of 231, recovering strongly after an opening 83 to post solid rounds of 75 and 73. Completing the top five was Kumar Dhanushan of NEGC on 232, whose closing 73 highlighted his ability to finish strongly on home turf.
K.U.D.N. Ukuwatte won the Women’s event with a total score of 306.
