Chalitha Pushpika maintained his top position with Yannik Kumara climbing five places on the second day of Sri Lanka Golf (SLG) Ranking Championships 2024, continued at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) yesterday.
However, the top performance of the day came from Kumara, the talented junior golfer, who ascended an impressive five positions to secure the fifth spot.
Pushpika, representing the Navy, continued to dominate with a consistent performance, maintaining a two-over-par total score of 145.
Closely behind him was Reshan Algama, the 16-year-old left-hand golfing sensation trailing by three strokes with a total score of 148 and securing the second position.
Priya Hemantha from the Victoria Golf Resort followed closely in third place with a total score of 152.

Kumara, whose solid four-over-par score propelled him from the 11th position yesterday to an impressive fifth position, and his remarkable performance, underscores his talent and potential in the realm of junior golf.
Adithya Weerasinghe, the 15-year-old sensation faced a challenging day on the course, shooting a disappointing 10-over-par round, dropping from the second position to the fourth position with a total score of 154.
The extremely hot, humid, and dry weather conditions posed significant challenges for all participants, testing their skills and resilience on the course.
With two days of play remaining, the competition remains open, especially for players in the top half of the leaderboard.
As the championship progresses, all eyes will be on the top five players where day three and four will be poised for some
exciting golf.
