Army Athlete Puvitharan smashes National Pole vault record

New Sri Lanka record holder Arunthavarasa Puvitharan 

Sri lankan national athlete Lance Corporal Arunthavarasa  Puvitharan of the 2nd Sri Lanka Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) set a new national record in the Pole Vault event held at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Sports complex , Diyagama, yesterday.
He cleared a height of 5.18 metres during the selections for the Army Athletics Championship 2025. The Previous record stood at 5.17 meters (in 2024). With this remarkable achievement, A. Puvitharan now holds both the Sri Lanka Army record and the Army Athletics meet record in the Pole Vault. (SP)
