Ministry of Urban Development, Constructions and Housing Battaramulla Dear Sir,
Billing Blunder and Threat of Disconnection for the 4th Time!
I wish to highlight yet another billing error – the fourth such instance consecutively – in my water bill for June 2025 (Bill Ref: 2025/6). For a usage of just 21 units, the total payable amount should be Rs. 2,560.60 (inclusive of all charges).
 However, the bill has been inflated with unjustified additions:
 Rs. 2,569.45 as Monthly Charge, and Rs. 8.85 as Late/Install Charge, bringing the total overcharge to a shocking Rs. 4,310.65!
To make matters worse, I have received a Notice of Disconnection threatening to cut off my water supply unless this erroneous amount is paid within 10 days — adding undue stress and hardship.
This is not just a clerical mistake; it’s a systemic failure that unfairly penalises law-abiding citizens. I urge Eng. Ms. P.V.S. Randima, Area Engineer for Colombo City - North, to urgently revise and rectify this bill to reflect the correct amount.
