Plans to send healthcare team on motorbikes until 1990 reaches location

A ten-year plan has been formulated for the Suwa Seriya ambulance service, which includes a mechanism to send a healthcare team on motorbikes to the location until the ambulance reaches, as the ambulance takes some time due to various reasons, Chairman of the Suwa Seriya Foundation Niroshan Ratnayake said.  He said this during a special training programme conducted for the 1990 emergency medical technical team.Health Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said steps are being taken to increase the fleet of 1990 ambulances to 500, and that ambulance service will be upgraded with the latest technology in the world. He said steps will be taken to obtain 100 more ambulances from India, 25 ambulances under a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and 25 under a grant from the ADB. `
