Vedda Chief’s 79th birthday celebrated with religious fervour

Vedda Chief Wanaspati Uruwarige Wannila Aththo on Sunday celebrated his 79th birthday at his house in Dambana in a grand way with Mahiyangana Divisional Secretary Wimansa Seneviratne as the Chief Guest. 

Mahasangha including Chief Incumbent of Gurukumbra Jana Uruma Vihara Ven. Galporuyaye Pradeepawansa Thera chanted Seth Pirith and blessed the indigenous leader. 

The Divisional Secretary presented him a memento to mark the occasion. 

Several officials of the Divisional Secretariat and the people of Vedda clan were present at the occasion.
