One dies, another seriously injured in head-on collision

 One died and another was seriously injured in a head-on collision of a trishaw and a lorry at Nedunkarni on Puliyankulam – Mullativue highway on Sunday night (26)   

Investigations revealed that the driver had lost control of the lorry when the trishaw entered the main road haphazardly and collided with it. The driver of the trishaw died on the spot and the passenger who received serious injuries was admitted to Nedunkarni hospital and transferred in critical condition to the Vavuniya general hospital.  

The driver of the lorry was taken into custody by Nedunkarni Police pending further investigations.
