Obtaining Rs. 50 mn to offer Parliamentary seat If complaint lodged, prepared to probe: Justice Minister

A certain political party is said to have obtained Rs. 50 million from a person to offer him a Parliamentary seat and the government is ready to investigate it if a complaint is lodged, Justice Minister Harshana Nanayakkara said yesterday.   
The Minister told Parliament that such things also must be cleaned.   
“A certain political party has obtained Rs. 50 million from a person promising him a seat in Parliament. We know how. If the person lodges a complaint, then we are ready to investigate,” he said and added, “Then, everyone can see how the law is implemented. Such things also should be cleaned,” he said.
