Indrani Chitra Wye

My elder sister Indrani Wye passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025, in Westlake Village, California. She was 89.
I hold memories of our childhood together when we lived with my father and mother, James and Evelyn Rutnam at Baron’s Court on Guildford Crescent, closed to the Race Course.
She was the wife of the late Patrick J. Wye, loving mother of Kshirabdhi Page, Padmini Anne Rio, and Maria Anne Berry, mother-in-law of Louis Page, Dylan Berry, and Jamie Rio as well as grandmother to Rachel, Tara, Louis Page Jr., Devon and Liam Belter, Brixton, and Gracie.
She was the Sister of the late Rajah Rutnam,, Jayam Rutnam, Iswari Camou, Dennis Rutnam, Padmini Johns, and George Rutnam. Sister-in-law of Patsy Rutnam, the late Judy Rutnam, Nihara Rutnam, Gina Rutnam, Rene Camou, John Johns Jr., and Sonia Rutnam.
Indrani was a proud alumna of Bishop’s College, Colombo, and travelled to and lived in London, unbaked, Assam and Los Angeles with her husband Patrick who was the Manager of many branches of the American Express Banking Corporation.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to honour and celebrate her life.
I will miss her laughter and her joyful attitude towards life.
