Spectrum Group Exhibition

The ‘Spectrum’ art exhibition brought together a collection of works by ten artists who were trained under the guidance of renowned Sri Lankan artist Royden Gibbs. The exhibition was opened at the Lionel Wendt, Colombo, by Chief Guest David Beling, son of late Geoffrey Beling and a member of the Colombo ‘43 Group. The exhibition included pieces in watercolours, soft pastels, oils and charcoal, reflecting both the discipline and personal direction of each artist. The work ranging from scenery and portraits to still life and studies of the human form, offered different ways of seeing and interpreting familiar subjects.
