World Wetlands Day was commemorated today, with people seen walking through Beddagana Wetland Park—a thriving sanctuary for wetland birds, butterflies, dragonflies, fish, and other wildlife. Nestled among lush vegetation, tranquil ponds, and the scenic Diyawanna Lake, the park serves as a living example of the critical role wetlands play in enhancing the livability of cities like Colombo.
