In commemoration of Victory Day, Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) visited the Ranaviru Sevana rehabilitation centre in Ragama yesterday.
He was accompanied by the Commanders of the Sri Lanka Navy and Air Force during the visit, which focused on engaging with Sri Lanka Army and Air Force personnel who were critically injured and rendered differently abled during the decades-long armed conflict.
The Deputy Minister and senior officials interacted with residents of the facility, listened to their concerns, and reviewed the medical, rehabilitation, and support services being provided. He expressed deep appreciation for their courage and sacrifice, and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting efforts to improve their quality of life.
He also extended his gratitude to the staff of Ranaviru Sevana for their dedicated service, commending their role in ensuring that differently-abled veterans are treated with dignity, respect, and the honour they deserve.
