The Peradeniya Veterinary Teaching Hospital (PVTH) has formally engaged Dr. Paw, a groundbreaking digital pet and animal healthcare management platform, as its official digital veterinary hospital management system.

Developed by Pet Care Solutions Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd, Dr. Paw is the country’s first fully integrated digital veterinary healthcare management platform designed to enhance clinical efficiency, streamline workflows and empower pet owners with real-time access to their animals’ health data.

The system has been operational at the PVTH through a beta test partnership since 2023, delivering demonstrable improvements in patient care, teaching workflows and health record management.

“Partnering with Dr. Paw has marked a significant turning point in how we deliver veterinary care. The platform has seamlessly digitised our clinic operations—from patient registration and medical recordkeeping to appointment scheduling and analytics.

Most importantly, it bridges the gap between clinicians and pet owners, empowering both with real-time access to vital health data and a learning experience for our students by integrating clinical discipline with digital fluency,” said Peradeniya University Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences Faculty Head Prof. Ashoka Dangolla.

The Dr. Paw platform provides a wide array of features, including electronic health records, appointment scheduling, telemedicine, vaccination tracking, diagnostic tagging, real-time analytics and mobile access for pet owners.

“We are honoured to have been selected through a university procurement process as the digital partner for the PVTH, Sri Lanka’s most prestigious veterinary institution. This partnership is a major validation of our vision to transform pet and animal healthcare through meaningful technology.

The success of the beta phase and now full-scale rollout proves that Sri Lanka’s state sector is now ready to foray into digital innovation and we are confident the other veterinary clinics islandwide will join this digital revolution,” said investment banker and Pet Care Solutions Lanka founder and Chairman Ifthikar Abdul Wahid.
