KPMG Sri Lanka is to hold a webinar on October 30 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., to unpack the recent changes introduced through the Companies (Amendment) Act, No. 12 of 2025, and their intersection with taxation.
The session will provide valuable insights into how these legislative reforms impact corporate governance, tax planning, and regulatory compliance.
The Companies (Amendment) Act, which came into effect in August 2025, introduces significant changes aimed at enhancing corporate disclosure, strengthening directors’ accountability, and empowering the Registrar of Companies. In this context, the webinar will explore key areas such as the distribution and taxability of capital reserves, revised provisions on share allotments and ownership transparency, and the legal obligations of directors and compliance teams. It will also cover guidelines related to offshore companies under the Port City regime, along with implementation schedules and compliance expectations.
The panel will feature Dr. K. Kanag-Isvaran, President’s Counsel, Suresh Perera, Head of Tax & Regulatory at KPMG, and Rifka Ziyard, Principal – Tax & Regulatory at KPMG. The session will be conducted via Microsoft Teams.
