Video: JVP hands over files to special corruption unit

JVP parliamentarian Sunil Handunettisaid more than 20 files on large scale corruption were today handed over to the special CID unit set up to investigate matters of large scale financial fraud.

He said the JVP had received sufficient information through its affiliated body Voice Against Corruption (VAC) and that all the information had beensubmitted to the appropriate body.

“Enough time has been taken to probing these irregularities and blatant scams. We have collected ample information on all the relevant people and institutions. These are staggering amounts when looked at as a whole and all this money should go back to the people or at the very least should go to the Treasury” Mr. Handunetti said.

Files concerning large scale financial fraud and corruption in the Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLCB), Milcocompany, National Lotteries Board, Bribery and Corruption Commission Chairman, The Sports Ministry, The Education Ministry and the Defence Ministry over the Avant Garde matter were among the 20 files which were handed over.
