Video: UNP, JVP betrayed country: NFF

The National Freedom Front (NFF) today charged the United National Party (UNP) and Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) had indirectly supported the UNHRC probe on Sri Lanka.

Speaking about the voting session held in the Parliament on Wednesday on the UNHRC probe on Sri Lanka, NFF Spokesman Mohammed Muzammil said the UNP and the JVP had avoided an opportunity to defend the country for petty political gains.

However the resolution was passed in the Parliament against the UNHRC Probe with 144 votes in favour while 10 votes against.

The UNP abstained from voting and the JVP was absent at the time of the voting. (Lahiru Pothmulla)
